APRIL 2003 GTDC Hosts Second Annual Summit Event
  The GTDC, together with CMP Media, hosted the Council’s second-annual Global Technology Distribution Summit, the industry’s most intimate forum for high-level distribution and vendor executives to meet and discuss pressing industry issues impacting every member of the global supply chain.
OCTOBER 2002 GTDC, The NPD Group Partner On Sales-Out Data Tool
  The GTDC, together with research organization The NPD Group, launched the Distributor TrackSM study, an in-depth research tool that will allow distributors, vendors and analysts to track sales-out data through the channel in specific product categories, all the way down to the SKU level, on both a weekly and monthly basis. The first installment of this service debuted this month.
OCTOBER 2002 GTDC Defines New Mission Statement
  Under Curran’s stewardship, the GTDC honed and redefined its mission statement to be a worldwide industry association dedicated to defining and promoting the role of distribution in a successful and healthy IT channel.
SEPTEMBER 2002 Tim Curran Appointed New CEO Of The GTDC
  Tim Curran, formerly the senior vice president of sales at Tech Data, was named CEO of the GTDC. Curran is an industry veteran with a 20-year history in high-tech sales and significant international business expertise, a perfect complement to the organization’s domestic and foreign initiatives.
MAY 2002 GTDC Hosts First Annual Summit Event
  The GTDC and CMP Media co-sponsor the Council’s first annual Global Technology Distribution Summit to offer analysis and dialogue on key channel and supply chain issues.
JANUARY 2001 The Council Expands Wall Street Tours
  One of the GTDC’s goals is to promote the value of distribution and the channel among key members of the investment community. In January, the GTDC expanded its quarterly Wall Street tours to include 15 brokerages and 25 analysts.
JULY 2000 The GTDC Meets Wall Street
  In 2000, the GTDC began making quarterly tours on Wall Street, visiting eight brokerages in that year to open a dialogue with top Wall Street analysts on the subject of distribution and its value-add in the channel.
FEBRUARY 2000 Carol Miltner Dubbed New CEO
  David Dukes resigns to launch new company, pursue philanthropic and other Board interests. Industry notable Carol Miltner was tapped to take over as CEO of the GTDC.
MAY 1998 A Mission Statement Fit For The Times
  At its inception, the GTDC’s mission was to improve the effectiveness of the IT supply chain in the emerging ecommerce economy by giving voice to key industry issues and serving as a conduit to drive necessary change globally throughout the supply chain.
MAY 1998 David Dukes Named To Top Post At The GTDC
  David Dukes, then the vice chairman of Ingram Micro, was tapped to found and lead the fledgling industry organization and acted as chief executive of the GTDC for two years from 1998 to 2000.
JANUARY 1998 The Global Technology Distribution Council Debuts
  In a rare joint venture, competitive full-line distributors Ingram Micro and Tech Data collaborated to create the industry consortium now known as the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC).
